Featured Presentation:

Maint(p)enance Plans

Marius Pedersen, Consultant Skill AS

Having solid maintenance plans might be the most important thing you do as a DBA, but it’s usually a one-time effort which goes on by itself in eternity. Senior DBAs created their own plans ages ago and re-implement them whenever there’s new instances or servers, and juniors look to the maintenance plan wizard for help. We’ll be reviewing the important aspects of a maintenance plan as well as demonstrating a few catch 22’s where the maintenance plan might do more harm than good.

About Marius:
Marius Agur Pedersen is a 28 year old man with a passion for technology, humor and tabletop RPGs. He's works as a consultant in Skill AS, but prefers to call himself a super-potato. Marius is the go-to-guy when it comes to Microsoft technologies, but he's no stranger to Linux, Packet Filter and Varnish. He finds database systems very interesting, and being the social tech-geek and nerd that he is you're sure to find him at events and meetups. To top it all of, he recently learned how to juggle.
