Our goals are to share knowledge, present new technologies, network and have fun. We welcome everyone from database administrators and developers to business intelligence professionals and students.

When moving your data assets to the Microsoft Azure platform, you have numerous tools available to you to help secure and protect your data. Within Azure SQL Database and Managed Instance, you can leverage Transparent Data Encryption, Always Encrypted, Row Level Security, and Dynamic Data Masking which are built into the database engine. In addition to native SQL features, there are additional built in tools that you can leverage. Advanced Threat Protection, Vulnerability Assessment, and Data Classification and Discovery. This session will explore the various tools and offerings so that you will have the knowledge to secure your data assets.

Tim is a Data Platform MVP and has a whole collection of Microsoft and other industry certifications. His experience includes HA/DR, virtualization, SSIS, SSRS, and performance tuning, among everything else SQL Server-related. Tim is very active and passionate in the SQL Community. He runs the Columbus GA SQL Users Group, has been a PASS Regional Mentor for a number of years, was named a PASS Outstanding Volunteer in 2012, and is a frequent speaker at user groups, SQL Saturdays and PASS Summits.
